Its our heartening note to launch this website of ANCHOR INSTITUTE, as our Department of Textile Engineering has been selected as the Anchor Institute of Textile sector by Industries Commissionarate Government of Gujarat.

I am nourishing the desire to see this website grow into a hub of textile information sometime in near future fulfilling a long term need of proper communication between students, faculties and people outside.

What is Anchor Institute?

 

Anchor Institute is an organisation to stimulate and enhance the growth of textile sector of Gujarat. The department has been entrusted with the responsibility of grooming skilled man power at different levels by imparting various technical trainings suited to specific requirement of Textile Sector and Allied Industries.

 

Role and Function:

We know that Gujarat has become hub of industries and Govt. of Gujarat is encouraging domestic and foreign investments through its program called Vibrant Gujarat. The Govt. is also aware that the success of any industry depends on trained quality manpower. For achieving its objective government has constituted Anchor Institutes under the scheme for “Technical competence and Enhancement of skilled manpower” in various sectors of industries and textile is one of them.

Objective:

In brief, to enumerate the objective of Anchor Institute are:

  • To design specific modules for ITI / Polytechnic / Engineering so that it can match Industry need.

  • A constant endeavour to make the training module Industry need based there by making modification/changes as per the Input/feedback received from Industry.

  • Encouraging faculties more towards R & D, Identifying new areas of growth and consultancy.

  • To abreast oneself with the recent development in the field and assist Industries.

  • Help weaker section of society for their self employment.

  • Benchmarking of courses.

  • Last but not the least, employment generation which is concern for all.
